Help

The rule

Connect the numbers in order and fill every cell.

Undo and Restart

Undo takes back your last move, meaning everything you drew in one swipe. Restart sets the line back to 1; you can reverse that with Undo too.

Hint

Hint shows you the next correct cell. If you’re on the wrong track, it shows you where your path stopped being right. You get three hints a day, unlimited with Ribbo Plus. There are no hints in the daily puzzle, the archive, when you play a level again or in challenges.

Daily puzzle

There’s a new daily puzzle every day, the same for everyone. It changes at midnight German time. It’s easiest on Mondays and gets harder towards Sunday. The app measures your time. If you solve the daily puzzle on consecutive days, your streak grows.

If you miss a day, the streak shield saves your streak automatically. You get one per week, Monday to Sunday. If you miss two or more days in a row, or you’ve already used this week’s shield, your streak starts over. Since version 1.2.

Ribbo can remind you at 8 pm if you haven’t solved that day’s daily puzzle yet. You turn the reminder on or off under Me. Since version 1.1.1.

Your path (since version 1.4)

All 500 levels sit on your path. To open it, tap Continue on the Play tab. It opens at your current level; tap Continue there to play it. Tap a level you’ve cleared to open its card with your best time, the target and your stars. From there you can play it again with Play again or challenge someone with Challenge. Once you’ve solved it, Next level takes you on, and back on your path you land at the level you played last.

Stars

You can earn up to three stars on every level:

Stars you’ve earned stay earned. Levels you solved before version 1.4 have one star until you play them again.

Ghost (since version 1.4)

When you play a cleared level again, your best run plays alongside you as a ghost: a dashed line marked You shows where you were at this point in your best run. Under the clock you see how many seconds you’re ahead or behind. If you beat your ghost, your time becomes your new best and this run becomes your new ghost.

There’s a ghost for levels you’ve solved since version 1.4. It’s stored on your device and, with an account since version 1.4.2, also with your account. Up to version 1.4.2, Race your ghost on the level’s card turns it off and on again; since version 1.5 you choose it there (Choose a ghost).

Challenges (since version 1.4)

With Challenge on a level’s card or after a new best time, you share a link with the level and your time. Whoever opens it plays the level against your time, racing your ghost if there is one. To beat the challenge you need a faster time; the same time isn’t enough. If Ribbo isn’t installed, the link opens a page on ribbo.de.

A level you haven’t reached yet can be played once as a challenge; it doesn’t count towards your progress. Levels you’ve reached count like playing them again. The link doesn’t contain your name. There’s more in the privacy policy.

Friends on your path (since version 1.5)

With an account and a name you see your friends on your path: their initials appear next to the level they’re on. Tap them to see who’s there. If a friend is further up or down the path, a note at the edge shows their name and level; tap it to jump there. Your friends’ positions load when you open the path. Without a connection you see the last update.

Choose a ghost (since version 1.5)

On the card of a cleared level, Choose a ghost lets you pick who runs alongside you: My ghost is your best time, below it are up to three friends who cleared the level fastest, with their time and stars, and Off plays without a ghost. If you pick a friend, the button says something like Race Lena; their ghost runs alongside you and the clock shows how far ahead or behind you are. A race against a friend counts like playing again. Your friends only see a best time once the server has checked it.

Weekly league (since version 1.5)

With an account and a name, the Friends tab has the This week card: you and your friends with your points for the week and on how many days you earned points. A week runs from Monday to Sunday, German time; a new week starts on Monday and everyone starts at 0. You earn points like this:

You can earn up to 25 points each day. The server works out the points; for levels and best times they arrive once it has checked the record, usually within a few minutes. Players with the same points share the same rank. In the new week, the first time you open Friends, the app shows you once how your last week went, if you and at least one friend earned points.

Your progress

Your level and your streak are stored on your device, and so are your daily puzzle time and, since version 1.4, your best times, stars and ghosts. If you set up a new device from an iCloud or Google backup, they come along. With an account (since version 1.1.0), your daily puzzle times are also stored on the server so you can see your rank and your friends. With an account your progress is kept: since version 1.4.2 your best times, stars, ghosts, your position on the path and your streak shield are also stored with your account and come back after a reinstall as soon as you sign in. Since version 1.5 your friends see your position on the path, your checked best times with stars and ghost and your weekly points. There’s more in the privacy policy.

Account (since version 1.1.0)

An account is optional. You can play all levels and the daily puzzle without one. With an account, after the daily puzzle you see your rank among everyone who solved it today with an account, and you can invite friends and compare your times every day. Since version 1.5 there are also friends on your path, races against their ghosts and the weekly league, and after the daily puzzle and on a level’s card you see how fast everyone was on average, once there are at least 20 times.

On iPhone, you sign in with Apple: tap Me at the bottom, then Sign in and Sign in with Apple. Then you choose a name; only your friends see it.

You can delete your account in the app at any time (Me → Delete account). There’s more under Delete account (in German).

Ribbo Plus (since version 1.2)

Ribbo Plus unlocks the archive of daily puzzles, all line skins and unlimited hints; without Plus you get three hints a day. There are three options: a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription with one week free and Lifetime Plus as a one-time purchase. You’ll find Plus under Me → Ribbo Plus. The terms of use explain what applies.
